I love rocky, random, sculptured surfaces and this is approaching perfection in that respect. I guess that why you took it? The only thing I'd alter is that its too dark for my taste, I've noticed that many photographers aim for really strong contrast to emphasize the form and detail. As a painter I find it unrealistic, but I understand why it happens.
One of my deviantions (probably the best one) is a painting of figures in a landscape. The landscape has a rocks in it. I think I spent longer on the rocks than anything else in the painting. After that I resolved to try doing something with just rocks and this might be the exactly the right reference material.
