Sekundäres Dickenwachstum - das trennt die Bäume von den Gräsern. Interessanterweise trägt der Baum so seine Geschichte (und die seiner Umgebung) in sich - sauber aufgereiht. Aber wer auch wie angewurzelt immer mit denselben jahrhundertelang umherstellt, der muss nicht unentwegt plappern, der konzentriert sich auf den nächsten Jahresring.
