I figured I couldn't be the only one to love this photo. You have a herd of admirers. Well, you do look damn good, I must say Your name means "Feast for the Eyes"? Incredible stuff here. Someone else said "Crocodile Dundee". Good. I didn't want to mention him and Indiana Jones, that's just too much A Horse with No Name is a good song, but it might be the kind of music you have to grow up with? Not sure. I guess I should change my ID Portrait to something taken in the last decade or two or three..maybe next week..or the week after...no time Awesome photos here
first of all, - thank you Julie for your nice commending... I only can say that I am grow up near a forest, not much people around...with 20 years I lived in the outback with other people, in a community.. later I spend a lot of time alone in Portugal, just me and the nature... today I am working with plants, I need to be outside...
How nice to be surrounded by nature all your life! I cannot be, at least not now, and I am also very isolated. But, I am isolated within a crowd of people, most of them seeming very different than I am, or so it feels here in the USA
The best translations of your username I've been able to find are :" Obsession for the Eyes", "Feast for the Eyes", "Fascination for the Eyes" ! And what fascination, feast, obsession when I see such a beautiful self-portrait (also the self-portrait of a beautiful man), self-portrait which will always surpass any attempt at painting it !!!!! I could compare you to Henry Fonda in "Once Upon a Time in the West", or to "Crocodile Dundee", but none of your photographs refers to the Old West or the Outback! It's just the hat (where can one find such a hat in Germany?!), this unshaved, weather-beaten, ruggedly handsome face and this distant look that really seems to be searching for himself ! You could have been that man who rode the horse with no name (link You Tube: America - A Horse with no Name)(too many good versions to make a direct link). However, you are none of that fancy out of control imagination... you are well anchored in your beautiful Northern Germany and I assume most of your great photos were taken in that area. I can't reallly have a favourite (except this portrait) as they all are so beautiful, whether it be a flower or a sunset ! I'm not an artist but love to look at art... what stopped me while glancing through the photograph section was your portrait ... does that mean that I selected your work because I fell in love with your looks... I don't know, it could be ! (which isn't necessary a compliment). Anyway, you are the artist that many people would not only admire as an artist but would also love to hug (we'll say, "as an artist").
Thanks for responding so gently, Augenweide... You do such an admirable work --and you seem to never rest ! I've particularly appreciated lately "Red", "Mother Earth" & the "DarkArt". Congratulations !
