So much sleep, shotgun spread pattern of hours, now clustering and clumping into tighter groupings. What once were my dog-moments, are sliding together in continental drift, Pandora again within my grasp. The sequence of new beds, one after another, passed by, longed for, encountered nightly in discoveries with the gentle.
 
Quiet. Uncertain quiet; there had been so very much of the loud where once I sat; trams and buses, trucks and voices of those that walked with phones to ears. There had been the roar of her, and the sullen subtle absence. There had been earthquakes; and separations by steps, a tectonic shift moving at human speed and timing; all of that noise, and now I in my quiet.
 
I savor the relaxation of soft wind in stripped winter trees; of the river’s chuckle and click of frozen surface. It’s Sunday here, quiet bundled-inside Sunday. The construction crews will begin again to
