Still Life Photography: Cut flower arrangementsAs with all still life photography, no human body parts or living things are to be included! Therefore with cut flower and plant arrangements it is important that the flowers are cut, or the plants are arranged in pots, jars, cups or other inanimate objects. Still Life captures something that ultimately, doesn't have 'life' in the sense that it's inanimate and unreal.
Arrangements can follow a very traditional pattern much like the above image. Traditional arrangements feature a neutral backdrop colour and often the edge of a shelf or table to give a sense of 'place' to the objects placed upon it. As you can see above, the image includes ornamental features, candles, texture and of course - cut flowers. The addition of an apple also brings in a more traditional feel.
There are also more 'modern' day captures that feature cut flowers. See above...Soft lighting, bokeh effects, the simple flower and the addition of the basket com
Wow, this really is gorgeous. I saw it in that still life article and I just had to click it. The contrast between to two colours makes this photo just explode. I have this plant's cousin, The Cape Gooseberry, growing in my garden. I'll never look at it the same way. Well done!
Beautiful colours! wonderful how as a watcher you get drawn into the photo!
Like little natural cages. Sweet~
